Writing and Publications

About My Writing
My writing spans poetry, creative nonfiction, and professional content, exploring themes of growth, connection, witnessing, interpersonal relationships, collective histories, and metaphysical and spiritual topics. Inspired by nature and the intricacies of human experiences, my creative work evokes reflection, fosters meaningful connections, and illuminates the shared truths that unite us.

In the professional realm, my expertise encompasses news writing, educational articles, and curriculum development for K-12 and adult training environments. I have also created impactful materials in leadership, business, and strategic and operational management, specializing in workforce training, organizational development, and intercultural communication. My professional writing is rooted in clarity, purpose, and engagement, driving measurable outcomes and fostering growth.

Creative Process
Writing, for me, is an evolving practice of presence, curiosity, and persistence. It draws inspiration from nature, the rhythms of slow living, and the connections that shape a purpose-driven life. Through words, I aim to foster understanding, spark dialogue, and create meaningful connections that resonate across experiences and perspectives.

Poetry

My poetry, featured in Red River Review, Emerge Literary Journal, The Rusty Nail, and other publications, delves into the complexities of interpersonal relationships, collective histories, memory, loss, identity, and trauma. Grounded in lived experience and proximity to the emotions and energies of specific events, places, and moments in time, my work seeks to uncover universal truths.

While my poetry often draws from personal encounters, it transcends individual narratives, striving to bridge the personal and the shared. It explores the resonance of human experience in its many forms, offering readers a lens to reflect on their own lives and connections.

Though I deeply value literature that directly addresses current events and social issues, my work reflects the themes most connected to my lived experience and the spaces I’ve inhabited. I write where I can speak authentically—where the energy of a place resonates, a lived experience unfolds, or a memory intersects with a broader emotional or historical truth. By anchoring my work in these connections, I aim to illuminate shared experiences in a way that fosters empathy, reflection, and a deeper understanding of what it means to be human.

Nonfiction

Essays and reflections span topics such as enviornmental stewardship, adaptability, art for social change, and the intersections of community, well-being, and growth. My work for the Pueblo Star Journal highlights community-driven initiatives and stories that inspire connection and action, while articles for the World Journal center on news and events, education, and agriculture, with a particular focus on food accessibility and farming initiatives in rural communities.
